The publications of illustrations and vignettes dedicated to Europe and the Euro have increased in recent years. The pictures representing the Eurozone and its recent crisis have helped the Europeans to become familiar with concepts which, at first glance, seem to be far from our daily life: spread, Eurobond, austerity, rescue funds. The EU is not only an inward-looking space but it is rather projected into the world. Through satirical vignettes – better if accompanied by explanations and debates – it will be easier to make even one of the aspects simpler for everyone, such as the foreign policy in its widest meaning which better characterises the European Union actions. The satire, although dealing with complex issues, can in reality describe, inform, instigate opinions and contribute, in extreme synthesis, to define the European identity.
We will learn to get to know “Europe in the world” with a smile - starting from the CECA (European Coal and Steel Commission) and the first attempts of the Defence European Community to the commitment in the Mediterranean and Middle East after the “Arab spring” and going through vicissitudes during and after the Cold War divisions.
The event is promoted by “BloGlobal – International Policy Observatory”, a website dedicated to analysis of international current affairs (www.bloglobal.net).
